Episode 5: Fred Beato of Beato Bags and a Special Holiday 2017 Offer

Fred Beato is the founder, president, and personality behind Beato bags. Proudly handcrafted in Huntington Beach, CA, USA, Beato bags are the choice of many of the world’s top drummers including Gregg Bissonette, Dennis Chambers, Tico Torres, Nigel Olsson, and Tris Imboden. Fred was born in Havana, Cuba, and immigrated to Florida at age 10, without his parents. Shortly after arriving, The Beatles grabbed ahold of the nation’s attention and inspired young Freddy to pursue a path as a drummer. For more than 35 years he has prided himself on manufacturing a quality product that is made in America, and his cell phone number is accessible to every customer: professionals and future stars alike.

I have known Fred for more than 20 years and have been huge advocate of his Pro I bags since my retail days. Talking with him was fun. He paints a vivid picture of coming to America in the 60s, and reminds us of the place music held in popular culture at that time. He’s a real person and his willingness to share his flaws and shortcomings – as well as the successes – was refreshing.

Holiday 2017 Special! Fred and I have collaborated to offer a special price for listeners on his new double snare and snare/tom combo bags. You can get the Beato double snare bag custom made to fit any sizes, in either Pro I or Cordura, for $125 including shipping within the continental US. Or get a combo snare/tom bag for $140 including shipping. Details inside.
